Guest house HANKA is situated in the village Smižany near to the town Spišská Nová Ves on the border of the National park Slovak Paradise.

You can visit and admire a lot of historical and cultural sights in Central Spiš region - castles (Spiš castle), gothic cathedrals (Levoča, Spišská Nová Ves, Spišský Štvrtok), famous churches (Žehra) and also important archeological places (Kláštorisko) - many of them with an adjective TOP - the highest wooden gothic altar in the world (Levoča), the largest castle in Central Europe (Spiš castle), the highest church tower in Slovakia (Spišská Nová Ves). The most important of them make famous "Gothic route".

National park Slovak Paradise is the unique natural area, which enables health walks in the beautiful nature, more difficult hikes in many canyons (Suchá Belá, Piecky, Prielom Hornádu) with ladders and a lot of waterfalls , cycling on the marked bike routes as well as a visit of unique caves (Dobšinská ice cave). The natural beauties of Slovak Paradise give a special adventure in winter.

There is a wide range of winter ski resorts available (Levoča, Spišská Nová Ves - Rittenberg, Krompachy - Plejsy) in the surroundings with many ski slopes suitable for beginners as well as for advanced skiers and a lot of ski running routes.

There are four other National parks in the area of 100 km - Pieniny, where you can practise rafting on the river Dunajec, the world - famous mountain range High Tatras , Low Tatras with perfect ski slopes and Slovenský kras with beautiful unique caves (Krásnohorská cave).
